Across this vast ripe home we call Earth, from every corner and in every theological structure and ideological philosophy, there is a concept or some form of recognition of a force or omniscient presence known as Spirit. The Judeo-Christian-Islamic mainstream religions of our time have a reference to the Holy Spirit. Native indigenous and tribal peoples across the globe embrace and acknowledge the presence of the Great Spirit. In Hinduism, one could say the belief defined as Atman is related to this force of Spirit. In Buddhism, Spirit is identified as Buddha-Nature.
Although defined in slightly different ways by numerous theological and philosophical ideologies, the common understanding is that there is a force or presence that is omniscient and can be sensed, communicated with, and experienced individually or in a group or a tribal community.
One theological definition of Spirit that embraces its essence is that it is the glue that binds Heaven and Earth.
THEOLOGY AND SPIRIT
SCIENCE AND SPIRIT
From the macrocosm of Cosmology to the microcosm of Quantum Physics the entire spectrum of the study of Physics embraces theories of fields, forces, quanta, and a particular theory having to do with the wave function of matter. Matter can be seen as condensed Energy. Quantum Theory relies on the notion that the basic particles that form our smallest structures of matter are in a state described as a probability based wave function, until, through processes such as fractal expansion, the wave function 'collapses' into a defined state or structure. In the microcosm, these structures are made up of forces and particles. In the macrocosm, these forces and particles combine to make stars, solar systems, galaxies and galactic clusters, and other Cosmological functions, such as event horizons around Black Holes and star remnants such as Neutron Stars and Magnetars.
At the edge of our understanding of Physics are postulated structures such as Dark Energy and String Theory, and the difficult to define force of gravity. It may be that the structure of the universe of matter/energy is molded by Dark Energy, and how Dark Energy is structured may be the defining force that causes the shapes of solar systems, galaxies and galactic clusters. Gravity may be sculpted by Dark Energy as these fields and forces interact.
More esoteric theories postulate multiverses. In one theory Black Holes from our universe populate divergent universes as matter falls into Black Holes. Also, the Many Worlds theory of infinite possibilities involves a wave function for each moment of probability collapsing into an infinite number of possibilities, for example, in a fractal expansion, creating an infinite number of branching collapsed wave functions. The variety of postulated theories comprising Quantum Theory can be seen as wave-functions waiting to be collapsed.
Being discussed here is the nature of our universe, and perhaps the Nature of Everything. Including the concept of Spirit into the Nature of Everything is necessary for the theoretical framework of Comprehensive Holistics. The possibility that there is an equation that describes the entire function of everything, as Albert Einstein tried so diligently to find, would necessarily have to include the presence of a unifying or defining force, which theology identifies as Spirit.
Perhaps the scientific quest for a mathematical equation that explains the Nature of Everything should include the theory of Spirit. The term Spirit, as used in this discussion, might be defined differently. The concept or theory of Spirit may cause the premise being presented here to be rejected since the term Spirit has its roots in theology. Perhaps Spirit and Dark Energy are synonymous. Comprehensive Holistics strives to understand and define a unifying structure of Nature. Science and Theology are not as incompatible as each discipline would like to believe.
Before our current science, our ancestors created their own theories of Creation and its components. A new, yet irresponsibly ridiculed set of theories, postulate that valid scientific evidence of advanced cultures from eons ago, perhaps more advanced than our own, existed in the very ancient past. Archeology has provided Science with evidence of the existence of this. Carbon-dating has identified archeological discoveries that defy the currently accepted timeline of history. When carbon-dating is used to provide dates that conform to the currently accepted timeline and history of Western civilization it is an accepted scientific tool. When carbon-dating provides results that are seemingly incompatible with current Western scientific dogma, these findings are negated by claiming that
carbon-dating isn't an exact science, or is faulty.
Either carbon-dating is flawed or it is generally accurate. Either the currently accepted history of Western civilization is accurate or it must embrace the findings of Archeologists and other scientists who dare to propose a more compelling and comprehensive story of the history of this planet. Galileo and Einstein forced Science to rewrite its textbooks. Perhaps it is time to rewrite the history texts and redefine our history - our timeline on this planet - so that it conforms to a more enlightened awareness of our ancient past and how it impacts our present.
Comprehensive Holistics asserts that life on this earth is a network of deeply connected components and lifeforms interacting in such a way that there is a totality of interaction, symbiotic and parasitic, that is balanced by natural laws, and this network has a higher level 'consciousness', or force, which is referred to as Spirit. This force called Spirit is conscious and self-aware. Using this theoretical framework, this planet, which can be postulated as being one type of 'particle' among the total particles of its type in a higher state of matter (or collapsed wave-function), is a living being of such a scale that some inhabitants of this earth are semi-consciously aware of this higher functioning force or field called Spirit. Spirit can communicate in mysterious ways with its various lifeforms. As enlightenment strives to ignite a new more comprehensive shared worldview there seems to be a disconnect between the acceptance of the concept that this earth is a higher lifeform, and the intransigence and egocentrism of the human species in not accepting these assertions. Humans must stop clinging to its current human-centered theoretical framework, functioning and structure of this universe.
To draw a parallel between science and theology, the Higgs field is theorized as that field which gives mass to particles (Why is it referred to as the 'God' particle?). In the same theoretical framework the theological concept of Spirit can define Spirit as a field that imbues consciousness to organic and other lifeforms.
